As our Mod Holiday celebration wraps up in twinkling lights and end-of-year cheer, it’s time for one of our favorite moments — our epic BestofUs Festivus recognition. This honor celebrates someone who consistently shows up with heart, curiosity, and impact… someone who makes the work better and the people around them brighter.
This year’s honoree checks every box on the nice list — a perfect blend of technical expertise, creative spirit, and thoughtful leadership. From improving user experiences behind the scenes to laughing along during Extra Life chaos, this person embodies flexibility, growth, and collaboration at every turn.
✨That BestofUs Festivus honoree is… Stephanie Smith! ✨
Based in Atlanta, GA, Stephanie can just as easily customize a Zendesk Help Center as she can throw clay on a pottery wheel. When she’s not improving user experiences across SaaS platforms and internal systems, you’ll likely find her at the pottery studio crafting mugs, lamps, or chip and dip platters with her 13 year old goldendoodle, Charlie, never far from mind.
Before joining ModSquad four years ago, Stephanie started out in marketing but quickly realized it wasn’t the right fit. Instead of settling, she went back to school for web development, a decision that launched an impressive career path at ModSquad: Service Developer → Technical Integrations Developer → Enterprise Applications Developer → Lead Enterprise Applications Engineer.
To Stephanie, ModSquad stands apart for its flexibility and willingness to take on new challenges. Her days are anything but routine and that constant evolution is also what she loves most about working at ModSquad: always learning, always growing.
From building meaningful tools to shaping great experiences (and even granting wishes during a memorable Make-A-Wish internship), Stephanie truly represents what it means to be the Best of Us.

I've had the honor of working with Stephanie for a few years now. Since day 1, she's been nothing short of exceptional. Not only is she a pleasure to work with, humble, and easy to talk to, she's also scary smart and has an uncanny ability to dissect clients' problems and consistently shine above expectations. The world needs more Stephanies.
Stephanie brings an exceptional blend of curiosity, empathy, and positivity to everything she does. With a genuine passion for learning, she is always seeking better ways to grow, improve, and support Modsquad. Her amazing attitude is felt by teammates and clients alike, creating trust, connection, and momentum wherever she goes.
Stephanie's the most pleasant and thoughtful person I've ever worked with. Outside of being a phenomenal technical mind with limitless potential, she's also grown into being an ever more capable mentor and leader on our team. I can't count the number of times a colleague has gone out of their way to tell me about a time Stephanie really made their day with a magical fix or a smile that they really needed. I'd take a hundred more like her, she's truly the best of us.
Stephanie is wonderful to work with, consistently demonstrating a collaborative, organized, and inquisitive approach to her work. She excels at driving new business solutions and diligently keeps stakeholders informed throughout the process. Stephanie's positive, solutions-oriented demeanor and dedication to both business success and her teammates make her truly exceptional.
Anytime something goes wrong with our internal site, I reach out to Stephanie. She is a magical unicorn that is always willing to help and tell me (nicely) that it's user-error (ha!) or fix the issue lickety-split. She is wonderful to work with and I really enjoy having her as a co-worker at ModSquad.
Stephanie is one of those people you can always count on. She’s incredibly helpful, quick to respond, and never hesitates to jump in and investigate an issue. She’s ridiculously smart, and honestly, her quick responses, deep love for knowledge, and ability to figure things out constantly AMAZES me every time! 💕

Once a marketer bold, she pivoted fast,
Back to school, into web dev—
A glow-up unsurpassed.
Four years of growth, a career in flight:
Service Dev to Lead—now guiding the light.
An elevator pitch? She’d humbly say,
“I make systems smoother in a collaborative way.”
With clarity, kindness, and leadership true,
She empowers her team—and clients, too.
Her days are a whirlwind—never the same,
From MyMSQ magic to consulting acclaim.
Help centers gleam with UX delight,
Customized, polished, and done just oh-so right.
At ModSquad she thrives on challenge and change,
Flexibility’s the gift that never feels strange.
She’s proud of that first Zendesk build (as she should!),
A triumph of learning—and it turned out *so* good.

“Dancing in the Moonlight” to his fandom and crowds.
She laughs with *Schitt’s Creek*, reads sci-fi with glee,
And loves stories of hope—like wishes run free!
During Bestofus Festivus, snowflakes may fall,
But a leader, like Stephanie, rises above all.
