Lights… Camera… Extra Life! New Video Promotes ModSquad’s Favorite Charity

ModSquad

We’re so excited about Extra Life that mere words can’t do it justice! That’s why we put together a new video about the upcoming fundraiser, featuring highlights from past Extra Lifeevents and testimonials about why this cause is so important to us. Since 2008, Extra Life has brought gamers together annually for a 24-hour video game marathon that raises money and awareness for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The non-profit organization comprises 170 North American hospitals that focus on children’s health issues and medical research.

For gamers, the event is a great reason to play games and help children in need. Others have a more personal reason for participating. In the video, members of our Mod team offer their thoughts on what makes Extra Life special. So turn up your speakers, turn down the lights, and press play:

ModSquad’s efforts have grown with each passing year, and our fundraising results tell us that it’s time well spent. Since 2013, our colleagues, clients and partners, families, friends, and others in the gaming community have come together to bolster our support of the cause. In fact, last year, ModSquad raised more than $25,000 for Extra Life, landing us in the top 30 fundraisers for the year out of a global gameplaying network of 5,000 teams. That’s amazing — but we’re not stopping there!

Instead, we’ve got our sights set even higher, and we’re optimistic that our “lucky seventh” year will be our best yet. We’re pulling out all the stops in 2020, even if we’re not able to gather in our global operations centers. Instead, we’re coming together as a community while staying socially distant. That means we’re spreading out the fun to more locations around the world.

In addition to 24 hours of games, we’ll be peppering in engaging activities all day and night. Want to challenge one of our players to a crazy stunt? Check out our list of donation incentives, where your contribution may prompt an onscreen participant to play with one hand or while wearing oven mitts. Or up the ante by sponsoring a brave soul to swig some hot sauce or taste dog biscuits! Through it all, we’re running a silent auction filled with goodies from our ModSquad colleagues and clients — another way you can help the cause even if you’re not a gamer. See a roundup of all of ModSquad’s Extra Life events.

Finally, when you donate to Team ModSquad, your gift is worth twice as much. ModSquad will match the total amount raised by the team, up to $20,000. So please give generously and make your contribution go even further. We hope you’ll join us on Twitch on November 7.
