Fall is here, and we’re happy to announce our newest Project Manager of the Quarter, Rob Simpson!

It started years ago, when our SVP of Global Operations, Rich Weil, was living a different iteration of himself (Rich Weil, version: NCSoft). He had met Rob Simpson during his time in Austin and thought highly of him and his abilities. A few years after Rich joined Metaverse Mod Squad, he reached out to Rob and invited him on board. And so, during August 2012, Metaverse Mod Squad’s destiny shone a bit brighter with the addition of Mr. Robert Simpson.

Rob has been involved in Customer Support for nearly 15 years now, ten of which he spent in the games industry prior to Metaverse. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and a law degree from The University of Texas — which are both tremendous achievements, as well as amazing tools in his arsenal.

Throughout his time with us, Rob has managed nine different projects with Metaverse overall, and has been involved in the success of an additional six projects. He is currently the PM of three separate projects. He has been a part of multiple services, from ticket support and phone support to forum moderation, social media moderation, content moderation, and tutoring.

Rob is intelligent, thoughtful, and works hard to be flexible and work within the ebbs and flows of a clients’ needs. In Rob’s words:

We have a large variety of clients that may have very different needs over time. When they need a solution, it’s my job to make sure we can provide them the best solution available. This involves hiring the best Mods I can find and then making sure they have what they need to do the best job possible. This includes working with the clients to develop the best processes and tools, getting to know the Mods to understand their strengths and weaknesses, managing schedules to make sure we’re meeting the clients needs, and preparing ahead of time for out-of-the-ordinary situations. We have to be flexible to adjust to issues related to either the clients or the Mods. Building a strong team, with flexibility in mind, is the best thing I can personally do for any client.

Outside of work, Rob is a bona fide Texan, and proud of it. He loves reading, cooking, watching movies, playing computer games, and rooting for the Longhorns, Cowboys, Spurs, and Rangers (along with any team his kids play on).

We are a better company for having Rob Simpson on board, taking care of our clients, teams, and services. He’s completely dedicated to making Metaverse a great place now and in the future.

I have been managing teams for a long time now, and my goal has always been to help others succeed. One of my earliest managers told me that his goal was to always train his replacement, and that is something that I have believed in. If I can put a team together, help them to become experts in their jobs, and teach them to handle every detail without me, then I have succeeded. I am always proud to see people that have worked for me continue to advance and become leaders themselves. We need great people to drive success and innovation, and I will have done my part if I can get those people started down the right path.
