ModSquad Celebrates Its 2nd Anniversary in the U.K.

ModSquad

We’re blowing out the candles and raising a pint to commemorate the second anniversary of ModSquad’s European Operations Centre in Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It’s a doubly festive time, as this milestone comes quick on the heels of our 100th hire for the Derry office. We’re delighted to have brought jobs to a cultural community that’s quickly becoming known as an innovative tech hub. We’ve assembled a formidable group of people here in our office at the historic City Factory building.

ModSquad’s reputation begins with its team of smart, savvy Mods who work from remote locations worldwide. So what made us want to put down roots in the UK? The idea was modeled upon the success of the company’s first operations center, in Sacramento, California, where the local presence boosted our relationships with area clients. “We wanted to better serve our European clients while expanding our client base throughout the region,” explains our own Kevin O’Neill. “A local European Operations Centre was the obvious solution. After a thorough selection process, we decided on Derry, given its skilled and educated talent pool and the fine support we got from Invest Northern Ireland.”

Two years later, it’s fair to say that the office has been a resounding success. How? Well, not to toot our own horn, but since you asked:

  • ModSquad was recognized as a US-Ireland Top 50 company, our third recognition in the region.
  • We’ve grown our client base in Europe with such organizations as Tourism Ireland, EDF Energy, and Konami.
  • Clients appreciate having the Mods and a local management team in the same time zone, telling us that the resultant hands-on collaboration is beneficial to their projects.
  • Did we mention 100 hires at the Derry office? On top of that, we’ve already had Mods promoted to assistant project managers and project managers.

Says O’Neill, “Being in Derry allows us to have face-to-face meetings with our UK and European clients, provide more hands-on support, and just get to know them better when they come in and meet our team in the office. We have a great laid-back atmosphere at the Derry office, and our team gatherings just bring us all closer together.”

But not all of the projects undertaken at our Derry office are regional. Stop by and you might find us working on a project for a locally based tourism client, while another works on a gaming client based in Korea, and a third works with an e-learning company based in the United States. And each of us might be providing a different service, whether it be customer support, moderation, or social engagement. It’s never dull here!

O’Neill sees a bright future ahead for the Derry office. “The obvious goals are to continue to grow the team, expand our client base, and grow the work we do with existing clients. We also want to expand how we interact with the local community and economy, particularly the technology scene that is growing exponentially in Derry. It’s definitely an exciting time to be with ModSquad in Derry!”

To the entire Derry team, “Comóradh sásta!”
