Mod of the Month — November 2020

ModSquad

This month, we’re thankful for the opportunity to celebrate a Mod who is quickly planting seeds of success through her work at ModSquad. An outstanding customer service professional, this incredible Mod provides superior support on behalf of the client. What’s her secret? An authentic passion for solving problems and making a difference in someone’s life. We’re pleased to introduce you to Marina O., our November Mod of the Month.

In talking with Marina, it’s easy to see that customer support is where she shines. In fact, it’s been her specialty since she started her very first job. “It’s what I do best and where I feel happiest,” says Marina. She always reminds herself that we’ve all been the customer and that we like our issues resolved. She loves being the person who gets to “take care of it.”

ModSquad gives Marina the opportunity to put her passions to work. Yes, we said passions, plural, because Marina is also studying herbalism online during her off-hours. How is Marina putting that to work, you ask? She’s able to apply this knowledge to her ModSquad project when she provides assistance to customers of the client’s horticultural and botanical products. Talk about a perfect match!

Impressed yet? What if we told you that Marina also studies multiple languages? Marina has been taking advantage of the flexible schedule that ModSquad provides by learning Portuguese, French, Japanese, and Hawaiian. C’est incroyable! (That’s incredible!)

One of her proudest moments is also a great example of what Marina loves most about ModSquad. She talks about how her colleagues were there to support her while she faced difficult health conditions, which showed how much they cared about her. Marina adds that only at ModSquad has she truly connected with both her supervisors and her coworkers. She says, “Here, there are people on the other side of the screen who are there for you.”

“When I joined ModSquad, I never dreamed I would be featured here. I’m part of the LATAM team and my new project is everything I ever hoped for. I’ll never be able to fully thank ModSquad for the last year and a half. It’s really changed my life for the best.”

Marina, a cultural connoisseur, enjoys immersing herself in the art of dancing. But we’re not talking about ballet or pop; Marina enjoys Polynesian dancing. Although she’s from Argentina, Marina loves the Polynesian culture, which will become more evident as you continue reading.

But first, you can see that she’s developed quite a reputation for being a positive force on her project; just look at what her ModSquad colleagues are saying about her:

“I had the pleasure of working with Marina on what I believe was her very first project. She’s a fantastic Mod. She brings great energy to any team she’s on, and she responds well to feedback.”
— Ali S., Project Manager

“Marina caught on very quickly. She does very well on productivity and QA projects. She will always jump in and help. She is hardworking and a team player.”
— Melissa L., Project Manager

“Marina is awesome and always delivers the best results. She rocks!”
— Ann S., Project Manager

To wrap things up, we decided to play a game of “Spacetime Travels” with Marina. See her answers to these hypothetical questions below:

Q: If you could live anywhere on this planet, where would you choose to live?
A: Hawaii. I’ve never answered anything so fast in my life.

Q: If extraterrestrials landed on Earth and offered to take you with them, would you go?
A: Probably! I’m always looking for new places to visit.

Q: If you could have the power of teleportation right now, where would you go and why?
A: Hawaii. Do you see a theme here? All joking aside, I’ve been fascinated with the Polynesian culture (Hawaii’s and Tahiti’s, specifically) for a really long time — decades, even. I wouldn’t mind a detour through Japan, since it’s such a short trip from the islands.

Q: If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want to have with you?
A: A flint fire starter, a machete, and a fishing line. You can tell I’m a big fan of Naked and Afraid. As long as I can physically survive, I believe my mind will get me through the ordeal.

Q: What’s your favorite place you’ve ever visited?
A: Praia do Forte in Brazil. I love the sea. While there are a lot of popular beaches nearby, that little fisherman’s village offers more secluded spots than any other, and the people are so friendly you feel right at home.
