Metaverse Mod Squad Establishes European Operation Center in Northern Ireland

Screen Shot 2015-06-24 at 5.49.53 AMBrick and mortar alert!  We are very excited to announce today the opening of our first European operation center, in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, UK.  Located on the third floor of the refurbished City Factory building, a beautiful brick shirt factory from the 1800’s, Metaverse is hiring 100 employees in services and business operations here over the next two years.

image1We’ll continue, of course, to work with remote Mods in the U.S. and around the world.  As a digital engagement services company, we’re masters of working together online, regardless of where we happen to be sitting.  As we learned when we opened our operation center in Northern California, however, the new physical presence in Derry gives us a larger and even more involved presence in Europe for our clients and prospects, fueling growth and prosperity.   Plus, some of us will finally get some well deserved rest from 2:00am phone calls.

historic photo city factory 2For this first EU operation center, we also looked at Berlin, Dublin, Galway, and Belfast.  We love those cities, and we may yet expand our presence there someday soon.  But there are many factors that made Northern Ireland, specifically Derry, attractive to us.  Notably, Derry has a skilled and educated talent pool and a reputation as a world-class cultural center.  It is also becoming known as a hub for technology and innovation.  To top it off, Invest Northern Ireland is providing us with a financial support package, and we are using those funds to accelerate our growth for the operation.

Jumping right in, we’re already a part of the Digital Derry International Conference in town today, and we’ll be a key sponsor of Northern Ireland’s innovation festival, CultureTECH, this September.  We’re also doing our best to learn the rules of Gaelic football and some Irish step dancing moves, and we’ve discovered this really good beer called Guinness.  OK, I already knew about that last one (probably way too well), but enjoy a Guinness with us today and stay tuned for more developments on our Northern Ireland operation.  Sláinte!
