Account Manager Spotlight — Caroline Markey

ModSquad

Twice a year we profile one of our powerhouse Account Managers, learning about their role in the company and getting to know them a bit better. Today, we’re pleased to introduce you to Caroline Markey, who joined ModSquad earlier this year.

Caroline hails from the picturesque seaside town of Warrenpoint, Northern Ireland, where she spends time with her 12-year-old dog Beano. (“Yes, his mischievous nature lives up to the name!” she says.) She’s close to her family and will soon be helping plan her sister’s wedding. An avid travel fan, she journeyed to 11 countries and managed to scratch “do a skydive” off her bucket list. Now that she’s settled down, we took a few minutes to talk to Caroline about what it means to be an Account Manager.

Tell us about your background and what led you to ModSquad.

I began working in contact center management around 2007 and have been in the industry ever since. I’ve worked both on the client services side and in-house, which informed my perspective and provided great experience.

Before ModSquad, I spent seven years in Galway working as an area manager for EA, one of the world’s top gaming companies. I decided to move back to my hometown, and joining ModSquad allowed me to stay at home and still have a role that I enjoy and am passionate about. ModSquad’s remote model provides me with great flexibility with my time and a work/life balance — win/win!

What are you doing in your current role?

I’m primarily responsible for managing relationships with our clients, delivering what they need when they need it, and ensuring the overall success of the project. I’m currently managing projects that are multilingual, multichannel, and multitiered, so there’s a lot of logistical complexity involved, which keeps you on your toes.

Any great stories that stand out in your memory?

Honestly, there are too many to mention. The best thing about this industry is the people you’re lucky enough to work with along your professional journey. Most of my favorite stories involve good people and the various adventures we’ve had together. I work every day with people located all over the world. I love the culture of learning and the added advantage of so many different perspectives and experiences.

Can you talk a bit about a rewarding experience you’ve had here?

I genuinely love to see people succeed, and we recently had a couple of projects that required some maneuvering in order to achieve the clients’ goals. We got there by breaking things down into smaller parts, which helps in identifying and applying appropriate solutions. I find being part of that process highly rewarding and satisfying.

What sets ModSquad apart, in your opinion?

Our adaptability! No challenge is too big or too small. Our remote working model gives us an edge that others just don’t have. We can quickly adapt to changing demands. With a Mod network that spans 70+ countries and 50+ languages, we can scale and flex as our clients need us to — all while delivering the highest quality of service. What more could you ask for?
